Banda de Gaitas de La Habana: Banda de Gaitas de La Habana was founded in 2004 by Professor Arturo M. Perez Quintana. The work of our group is based on the rhythms and genres to rescue the Celtic music tradition, emphasizing the Asturian music. In terms of musical interpretation, our work is headed in both directions: traditional music (Asturian bagpipes band format ) and link the tradition with other international rhythms in a more contemporary context and Cuban. We also have our own compositions which beyond being tied to any particular style, these compositions offer a different and attractive way to Celtic music, getting our own style. Our group also acts as a source of teaching training children and youth in different fields, such as bagpipes, traditional drum, flute, tambourine and dances.
